Sorry everyone, things got away from us last weekend, so we didn’t record a show. But we’ll be back next weekend with two - you heard me right, that’s two - new shows.
I’ll put some photos of our new house up soon, too.

Hey, no need to apologize! We’ll wait.
Hope the house is going together well. It’s pretty exciting, isn’t it?

I will miss the show, but you were crazy to think you could do one while moving. I hope everything is going smoothly. Congratulations!

Re Episode #22
You two musts have been really crook, you missed the chance of a great pun “No Grounds for Bad Coffee”
People here are into instant Nescafe. I had never seen a Coffee Plunger untill I went to Australia.
I brough back one and people here were facinated by it. Sadly it broke last year.
Thats one of the plesant suprised I had down under, having been at boarding school in England, I expected to be swamped with tea (Which I hate, its a drink for wusses and old maids)
But when I realised that coffee was so good down under, I was happy as a pig in shit.
I probally drank about 12 cups of Cappachino a day, then on a long ride I would hold every one up as I had to make frequent pit / pee stops.
Its worse in winter as you have to peel off all these clothes to get to the old feller, who is already shrivled up from the cold, and does not really want to poke his head out, so to speake.

Two shows? Now I’m wondering if I should call and leave a second voicemail so you have one for each show.

Youll be back when you are ready.
Happy days in your new place!!

We quite understand if there aren’t any shows at all next weekend. Just settle in, discover the place and its surroundings properly, and when you feel settled in, we’ll be happy to hear from you.
Meanwhile, crack a bottle on behalf of your listners. Just make a note: turps or tops…?
All the very best!

Everyone is being so understanding…..maybe I shouldn’t be.
Damn you Zan and Jana…..the only thing that gets me through my Monday is listening to you two. Phibes Jr is inconsolable. *in best Darth Vader episode 3 voice* NO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay…..seriously though…..your show is quality enough that its worth the wait….kinda like Christmas.
Later
Phibes

It is like Christmas. I just want to warn whoever is doling out the gifts that I will not tolerate an orange in my stocking. I’m tired of that scene. If I want an orange, I’ll go to the fridge. Until then, use that space for chocolate, beeyotch.

I agree wit Zan, I dont like sweet food mixed with savory.
Also when at BBQ, I hate when people put rasins in coleslaw………It makes it hard to determine which are flies.
But u 2 bludgers have a “Paying Public” to keep happy, so hurry up with shows

I’m intrigued that Larrakin says “transgressive” isn’t an Australian word. I would have said that it isn’t American, since I’ve never heard it used here. This definitely deserves more attention. Perhaps your next show could be entirely devoted to exposing the nuances of that wacky word. Your ratings would go through the roof!

Noun: transgression, verb: to transgress, adjective: transgressive
This is a word that comes from two root words: Trans (across) and Ghredh, (to step, to walk), meaning to step across a line or to break some law. They are both very old words found in Proto-Indo-European, which was the root of most European languages such as Celtic, Greek and Latin. It entered Middle-English after the Norman conquest in 1066 from the Old French transgresser where it became transgressen.
It then became part of what we now speak as English. For example, transgression is in the Bible in lots of places. To quote but one:
Numbers 14:18 - “The Lord is long-suffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression”
It spread around the world with English, and is certainly part of American, Australian and UK English. If you don’t believe me, look it up in a local dictionary.
So why don’t you think it is part of your language? Everybody speaks a subset of their own particular variant of language, called their vocabulary. Every person has a different vocabulary because it is built as you age, from the language you are exposed to: from your parents, your schooling, your job, your friends, your entertainment, your life. So, some American, Australian and UK English-speaking people’s vocabularies include the word transgressive, and some don’t.
Like it or not, everyone who listens to this show now does have transgressive in their vocabulary. But a whole show about transgressive? With apologies to Phibes72 above, *in best Darth Vader episode 3 voice* NO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nicely written Barking101! Sounds like someone stayed awake in linguistics class. I was the guy who was away on business that day.
